HIGH PEAKS SNOW LOOP

This is one of my favorite loop hikes, and it’s typically a pretty easy walk during much of the year. This time I did it after two recent snow storms dumped several feet on the higher peaks, and it was a real winter wonderland! Fair warning, in heavy snow this becomes quite a difficult trek and you will likely encounter below freezing temperatures and high winds. Snow shoes are recommended, waterproof boots and clothing are a must. Another hiker was rescued here just a few weeks prior in knee deep snow, unaware the storm was coming.

Doing this hike in full winter conditions is dangerous and difficult. It is not recommended that you hike solo in these conditions.
