TRIP REPORT: Grayson Highlands Wilderness Loop

Trail: Massie Gap, Mt Rogers , Lewis Fork, Appalachian Trail
Weather: It was mostly clear and cold with great long range views. I don’t think it got below freezing but we did see some leftover snow in small patches.
Notes: We saw lots of ponies near Wilburn Ridge and spent a nice night outside in a large open field and got to see an incredible sunrise and sunset. We saw more ponies at sunrise as we packed up and departed. We had some incredible views along the entire loop.
